About Layne

Layne WhitleyLayne Whitley is a certified success coach who blends goal achievement strategies and whole health strategies to inspire her clients to live the lives they love. Layne conducts sessions through the telephone and works with clients throughout North America and internationally. A seasoned guest speaker for groups and retreats, she also regularly teaches workshops on gluten, dairy and sugar free food preparation (and more!) and hosts her own seasonal transformation retreats.

At the age of 35, Layne has pursued a personal journey in the realm of food and nutrition. From experience she has learned true happiness and success begins with what she chooses to eat each day, as well as taking care of her body and mind. Eating well, exercising, and stress-management did not come naturally to her from years of training in a fast-food society, but she has since discovered the tools that empower her to love nurturing herself in these powerful ways.

Her passion for food (and eating!) has led her to develop extensive menus that are absolutely delicious, affordable, healing, and promote weight loss. As a wellness coach, Layne seeks to inspire others and is still amazed by how it impacts their lives.

Coming from a love of nature and the desire to serve others, Layne has also dedicated her life to finding ways to heal the earth and promote positive change. Part of this commitment is rooted in the belief that in living the life you love create a powerful ripple of positive influence. She has been a teacher in both traditional and alternative settings and has taught classes and workshops to a vast spectrum of ages ranging from toddlers to seniors, earning the “Most Influential Teacher” award as an educator. Layne also worked for a number of nonprofits where she directed programs and events to promote positive change for peace and the environment.

Layne’s sense of adventure and desire to create a memorable life has led her to work in incredible environments. Biking the 400 mile coast of Oregon… Caretaking wolves in Colorado… Backpacking through the wilds of New Zealand… Teaching farm-to-food workshops on the coast of Maine… Harvesting medicinal plants atop the Blue Ridge Mountains… Layne has certainly sought to create and fulfill her dreams and continues to do so. Her mission is to empower her clients to find the joy in balanced living and to break the barriers of fear and self-doubt. She truly believes that EVERYONE has the ability to create the life of their dreams!

Layne has her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Women’s Studies from Villanova University, where she discovered her talents for writing. She is a feature writer for the Black Mountain News and has authored several books on wellness and healthy eating. Layne received a full scholarship to study at the Earth Activist Training with legends Starhawk and Penny Livingston-Stark where she was trained and certified in the field of Permaculture (sustainability practices), Community Activism, and the Power of Intention. She later went on to fulfill one of her dreams by studying plant nutrition, health, & medicine at the Blue Ridge School and the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine (both located in Asheville, North Carolina). Layne is also a certified Sivananda Yoga Instructor from the Yoga Alliance.

Layne is a graduate of the International Coach Academy where she is received her Pofessional Coach Certification. She has also studied with the Coach Training Alliance in the areas of Wellness and Weight Loss Coaching.
